Antennas and accessories for time servers
For perfect control and quality, Bodet designs its own antennas and uses reception modules from leaders such as UBlox. The form of our antennas is specifically designed to optimise signal reception and ensure an excellent resistance to climate conditions
GPS antenna or radio antenna?
Advantages of the GPS antenna:
- Provides worldwide coverage
- Guarantees stability and precision of the time signal
- Synchronises our clocks, master clocks, and time servers
Advantages of the radio antenna:
- Facilitates installation thanks to an antenna positioned inside the building
- More economical than the GPS antenna
Satellite Antennas
Bodet offers 4 types of antennas: Single Constellation Antenna (GPS or Galileo or GLONASS), Multi Constellation GNSS Antenna and a GNSS Interface.
Type | Signals | Usage | Installation | Options | Advanced functions |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Single constellation antenna |

Which satellite antenna to choose?
Our single constellation antennas receive signals from one constellation (GPS, Galileo or GLONASS) in a wide spectrum (omnidirectional coverage in space). They are easy to install and are sufficient for non-critical or non-sensitive applications.
If time reference is a sensitive data for the proper operation of your infrastructure (finance, transport, video surveillance, access control, etc.), you should consider a more comprehensive and effective solution.
Our multi-constellation antennas can receive signals from several positioning systems, thus offering greater accuracy. Besides, combining signals from several constellations ensures that the signal remains available, even under limited visibility conditions or in presence of obstacles, for example in an urban environment.
Eventually, in the context of critical applications, an anti-jamming and anti-spoofing multi-constellation antenna helps to maintain the integrity of the time signal. Indeed, interference is possible (whether unintentional from other transmitters such as communication towers or intentional from illegal “jammers”). As a result, interference can disrupt the reception of the satellite signal. This antenna has been specially designed to avoid such interference and guarantees optimum time synchronisation
Radio Antenna
Bodet offers two types of antennas: ALS162 Antenna (French Transmitter), DCF77 Antenna (German Transmitter)
Type | Signals | Usage | Installation |
---|---|---|---|
ALS antenna |
ALS162 | Synchronisation with low timing constraint (Millisecond) | For indoor or outdoor use. Protection index IP53, IK04 |
DCF antenna |
DCF77 | Synchronisation with low timing constraint (Millisecond) | For indoor or outdoor use. Protection index IP53, IK04 |
GPS rollover phenomenon
What is GPS rollover?
The GPS date in a GPS module is calculated on a "week number" database sent by the GPS satellites.
The "week number" represents the number of weeks since 6 January 1980 (origin of GPS time). This data allows a GPS module to calculate its UTC calendar. The "week number" is encoded in 10 bits, which represents a maximum of 1,024 weeks. Every 19.6* years, rollover is inevitable.
* 19,6 = 1024/52
What are the impacts on your products?
Certain Bodet products (such as the Sigma master clock) will be affected and will no longer have the correct date. Rollover will cause disturbances on time and season changeovers.
When will I be affected by rollover?
